Designed for Safer, Easier Everyday Use
Before the renovation, this Bateman bathroom had a more traditional layout with a bathtub and dated finishes that no longer suited the client’s needs. The brief for this bathroom renovation was centred on accessibility, with a focus on creating a space that felt safe, easy to move through and simple to maintain, without sacrificing style.
Accessibility with a More Considered Finish
A key part of the transformation was removing the bathtub and replacing it with a spacious walk-in shower with zero-threshold entry. This created a more open and practical layout, making the bathroom easier to navigate and better suited to changing mobility needs. Thoughtfully positioned grab rails and carefully selected fittings were also integrated into the design to provide support where it was needed most.
A Functional Space That Still Feels Refined
Grey wood-look tiles were used across the walls and floors to give the room a contemporary feel while also adding warmth and texture. Chrome fixtures, a frameless shower screen and a clean, uncluttered layout helped the bathroom feel more like a modern retreat than a purely functional space. The finished result shows how accessible design can be practical, durable and beautifully resolved all at once.
