A Fresh Take on the Existing Ensuite

Before the renovation, this Waterford ensuite carried a more dated look and layout that no longer matched the feel the homeowners wanted. The original space was functional, but it lacked the openness, storage and overall sense of calm that can make an ensuite feel like a true retreat. The aim was to move away from that older style and create something that felt lighter, more refined and far more enjoyable to use.

Designed Around Comfort and Everyday Use

A key focus of this ensuite renovation was improving both functionality and flow within the existing footprint. Reworking the layout made room for a spacious walk-in shower and a double vanity, giving the room a more generous and practical feel. These changes helped the ensuite function much better for shared daily use, while also creating a layout that feels more open and balanced.

Soft Colour, Warm Timber and Modern Contrast

One of the standout elements in the new design is the use of pale mint green feature tiles, which bring a calming, spa-like feel to the shower area. This softer colour palette is balanced by the warmth of the natural timber vanity and the crisp contrast of matte black fixtures and framing. Vessel basins, a large mirror and clean-lined finishes all work together to create a space that feels contemporary, distinctive and beautifully resolved.

A Calm and Contemporary Retreat

The completed renovation has completely transformed this ensuite into a space that feels fresh, functional and full of character. What was once a dated bathroom is now a calming retreat with a much stronger sense of style and usability. It is a great example of how thoughtful layout changes, natural materials and a well-chosen palette can completely reshape the experience of a room.
