Before the bathroom renovation, this Madeley bathroom reflected an older style that no longer suited modern family living. A large corner spa bath took up a significant amount of floor space, the shower was relatively small, and the overall layout felt dated and less practical than it could have been. Darker finishes, decorative detailing and an inefficient use of space made the bathroom feel heavier and more enclosed than the homeowners wanted.

Designed Around Everyday Functionality

The goal of this bathroom renovation was to create a more spacious, practical and luxurious bathroom by rethinking the entire layout. Rather than keeping the oversized spa bath, the design focused on features that would be used every day and bring more value to the space. A double shower became a key inclusion, while adjustments to the window, entry layout and fixture placement allowed the room to function far more effectively for a busy household.

A Contemporary Update with Real Impact

The transformation included replacing the corner spa with a generous double shower featuring dual showerheads, creating a standout feature that feels both functional and indulgent. The previous shower area was repurposed to allow for an additional toilet, while a redundant doorway was removed to make room for a large custom double vanity. Timber-look cabinetry, dual vessel basins, large-format light grey tiles and sleek chrome fittings all worked together to create a clean, contemporary finish with warmth and character.

The completed bathroom renovation now feels brighter, more open and far better suited to modern living. What was once a dated spa bathroom has been transformed into a refined and highly functional space that balances luxury with everyday practicality.
