Leaving the 1980s Behind

Before the renovation, this Kelmscott bathroom was clearly showing its age, with beige tiles, honey oak tones and dated finishes that no longer suited the home. The space felt tired and worn, and while it was still functional, it lacked the clean, modern feel the homeowners were looking for.

A Cleaner, Sharper Direction

The goal of this bathroom renovation was to completely update the space with a more contemporary look and a stronger sense of style. A monochrome palette became the foundation for the design, bringing together crisp whites, soft greys and matte black accents to create a bathroom that feels fresh, refined and much more in line with modern living.

Contemporary Finishes with Strong Contrast

White wall tiles, a floating vanity, a marble-look benchtop and black-framed mirrors all helped reshape the room into a more polished and visually balanced space. Matte black tapware and shower detailing added contrast and definition, while darker floor tiles grounded the palette and brought warmth into the overall design. The updated shower, bath and separate toilet area also improved the way the bathroom works day to day.

A Bathroom That Feels Completely Renewed

The completed bathroom renovation has transformed this Kelmscott home from dated and tired to sharp, modern and highly functional. What was once a worn 1980s bathroom is now a contemporary space with a much stronger sense of quality and appeal. It is a great example of how thoughtful finishes and a clear design direction can completely refresh a home.
